Overall: 0 - If there is a genuine wage dispute in this Hotel it should not be held up as an excuse for false adverting. We have had dinner and drinks there for a few years but on two occassions they have made petty attempts to screw extra dollars out of me by inventing rules around their 2-for-1 deal. Recently said it was not valid on public holidays - they already have a 15% surcharge and I don't see what staff wages have to do with the sign outside their pub that says 2 for 1 - we could have pulled over somewhere else and they should honor their sign. On another occasion they said I couldn't order a burger on the meal deal - only later discovered that there was one on the deal, another burger that was not. They could have told me but were just chasing another 10 bucks. Interesting to see other reviews have mentioned price. Go further north and on both sides of Sydney road there are better pubs in Coburg.
Overall: 0 - i liked this place until I found out that it has taxidermy animals on display. Now I will not return. Not a good place for people who care about animals.
Overall: 2 - I have always liked it, even though it's not the cheapest place you can get a meal on Sydney Road. The bands are hit and miss, but generally free, and there are areas away from the music, so you can't really complain.
Overall: 1 - The food is overpriced and the quality not so great -- with the exception of the roo steaks. The beer is also relatively pricey. It is a great place to sit and have a drink though.
Overall: 2 - Top boozer, good beers, decent eats, local.
